The 2020 BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition

In our digital age it is not always clear whether the image we’re viewing is ‘real’ or digitally created, and looking at the incredible quality of these shots, its somewhat reassuring to know that the art of ‘real’ photography is not only alive and well, but reaching ever more breathtaking heights.

It’s almost impossible to pick a favourite, but Greg Lecoeur’s entry is an image I’ve found myself repeatedly going back to. Growing up on the French Riviera, Greg Lecoeur learned to scuba dive at an early age. Diving the Mediterranean, Greg developed his passion for marine life and under water photography eventually using his incredible skills and passion to raise awareness of ocean conservation.
